Nisha JamVwal and Phoenix Market City hosted a swish champagne high tea to celebrate women achievers at Bombay Coffee House. JamVwal's forum, the #BombayWomenAchievers group attended in full force, enjoying the hot scones, preserves, paper thin sandwiches, petite four cheeses and cheesecakes along with other delectables accompanied by a buzzing tea bar.

Nisha JamVwal's forum is about mutual growth, discussions, discourses, support systems to each other in crisis, discussions suggestions brainstorming and philosophy.

The surprise element infused by JamVwal was a live performance by American singer Anushka Jag who performed  her new single 'Rebirth' to a standing ovation. Her single speaks of woman’s new beginnings and several rebirths.

Producer DS Pahwa, known for his classy yet contagious plays, is back with his next mega-production, Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye, an emotional rollercoaster, directed by Raman Kumar. Starring Sudha Chandran and Riddhima Rakesh Bedi as the mother and daughter duo with Paintal, Avtar Gill, Ravi Gossain, Poojaa Raajput and Harshita Shukla among others, Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye is a play about relationships and memories. “A play dealing with a sweet relationship gone sour,” divulged Producer DS Pahwa.

Ace director Raman Kumar averred, “It is a play about the emotional turmoil between a mother and a daughter. What can happen if a daughter hates her mother, or worse if, she believes that her mother is the reason for her father’s death.”

The cast and crew of the play Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye were spotted rehearsing at Kent Star Rehearsal Hall, Veera Desai Road. The play is scheduled to embark on a tour on March 31st, 8pm at Rang Sharda, Bandra, followed by April 12 at Royal Opera House, 6.30 pm among other cities.

Avtar Gill plays Dinesh Kumar alias DK, who is a friend to Sudha Chandran’s on-screen character, Sagarika. Paintal plays the role of a loyalist who accompanies Sudha’s Sagarika as a Tabla player whereas Ravi Gossain plays Reema’s (Ridhima Bedi) husband. Ridhima portrays Sagarika’s daughter who blames her mother on her father’s alcoholism, eventually dying an untimely and unnatural death.

DS Pahwa’s association with the Indian entertainment industry goes back to the 70s, where from running a cinema hall in Delhi, he has distributed over 40 Hindi films. Beside film distribution, DS Pahwa has produced several critically acclaimed plays with numerous Bollywood personalities. “It's a play on relationships by master director Raman Kumar. The cast is simply perfect. And the rehearsals are shaping up very well,” concluded DS Pahwa.

#PledgeToRise हा जागतिक महिला दिवस स्मिता ठाकरे आणि मुक्तीसह

 ८ मार्च २०१९ या जागतिक महिला दिनाचे औचित्य साधून नामवंत कंपनी मर्सडिज बेंझ ने "महिला दिन"खास  #PledgeToRise हा कार्यक्रम आयोजित केला होता. ह्या कार्यक्रमाच्या प्रमुख पाहुण्या म्हणून  स्रीशक्ती आणि समाजसेविका स्मिता ठाकरे उपिस्थित होत्या, स्मिता ठाकरेंची नफारहीत 'मुक्ती' या संस्थे समवेत मर्सडिज बेंझ ने हा कार्यक्रम आयोजित केला होता. हा एक सामान्य पण प्रभावशाली कार्यक्रम होता ज्यात प्रत्येक वयोगटाच्या महिलांनी सहभाग घेतला महिला सशक्तीकरण, शिक्षण आणि पर्यावरण या तीन ठळक मुद्यांचा या कार्यक्रमात  समावेश होता. ह्या तीन मुद्यांची प्रत्येकाच्या वैयक्तिक आयुष्यात वाढ व्हावी यासाठी स्मिता ठाकरे यांनी कार्यक्रमात सहभागी महिलांबरोबर प्रतिज्ञा घेतली तसेच कार्यक्रमाचे दुसरे अतिथी डॉ.विश्वनाथ प्रभु यांनी उपस्थित माहिलाच्या आरोग्यविषयक प्रश्नांची उत्तरे दिली.

केवळ जागतिक महिला दिन आहे म्हणूनच नव्हे तर, महिला सुरक्षा आणि सशक्तीकरणाच्या बाबतीत समस्या येताच स्मिता ठाकरे आणि त्यांच 'मुक्ती' ही  नफारहीत संस्था नेहमीच अग्रगण्य राहिली आहे. या पूर्वीदेखील त्यांनी ठाणे तुरुंगातील महिलांसाठी योग कार्यशाळा आणि अजून विविध क्षेत्रात निरनिराळे उपक्रम राबविले आहेत. इतकेच नव्हे तर भारत सरकारद्वारे प्लास्टिकच्या बंदी नंतर, मुक्ती फाऊंडेशन ने कार्यशाळेची स्थापना केली जिथे गरीब महिलांनी कापडी पिशव्या, उश्याचे कव्हर्स, स्लिंग बॅग, कोस्टर्स इत्यादी बनवण्यासाठी शिलाई मशीन वापरली आणि अशा वेगवेगळ्याप्रकारे त्यांना रोजगार मिळवून दिले. 

'मुक्ती' फाउंडेशन गेल्या दोन दशकांपासून सातत्याने HIV आणि AIDS प्रति जागरूकता टिकवून ठेवण्यासाठी, नवीन सर्जनशील मार्ग शोधण्यासाठी तसेच सामाजिक बदल घडवून आणण्यासाठी जागतिक आरोग्य संघटनांनी जागतिक पातळीवर सन्मानित केले गेले आहे. 'मुक्ती' फाउंडेशनने LGBTQ + समुदायांमध्ये HIV जागरूकता पसरविण्यासाठी सनी लिओन समवेत राबविलेली 'फ्रिडम परेड' सर्वांनाच ज्ञात आहे. ब्रँड ॲम्बेसेडर जॉन अब्राहमसह राबविलेलय 'I-Pledge' मोहीमेद्वारे सेलिब्रिटींच्या रोड शो नी निधी उभारणी मैफिल भरविली होती. हेलन केलर इन्स्टिट्यूटला आर्थिक सहाय्य आणि देणगीच्या ऑटोमेशन उत्पादनांची पूर्तता झाल्यानंतर, मुक्ती फाऊंडेशनने स्पॅस्टिक सोसायटीच्या कार्यकलापांना देखील पाठिंबा दिला आहे. संस्थेने पर्यावरणीय संरक्षण आणि कल्याणासाठीही काम केले आहे.

स्मिता ठाकरे यांची मध्यमवर्गीय मूल्ये आणि पार्श्वभूमीने नेहमीच त्यांना वास्तवाशी जोडून ठेवले आहे आणि मुक्ती फाऊंडेशनच्या स्थापनेत ही एक प्रमुख चालक दल आहे. HIV संशोधन आणि औषध पुनर्वसन करण्याच्या त्यांच्या प्रयत्नांसह जागरूकता सुरू करताना त्यांनी विज्ञान विषयात प्रतिपादन केलेल्या शिक्षणाची मदत ते समजून घेत असताना झाली. 

स्मिता ठाकरे सांगतात की, "मी इतर स्त्रियांना मदत करण्यासाठी सातत्यपूर्ण आणि जिद्दी राखण्यासाठी माझा  सर्वोत्तम प्रयत्न करते. समाजाला मदत करण्याच्या आमच्या प्रयत्नांमध्ये यश मिळवण्यासाठी माझ्या सभोवताली असलेल्या सर्व लोकांना मी आशेने प्रोत्साहन देते. या आंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिनानिमित्त मी माझ्या महिला सशक्तीकरणाच्या प्रवासात अधिकाधीक स्त्रियांना मदत करण्याचे वचन देते. कारण मैदानात उभे राहण्यासाठी एकट्याने लढत झाल्यानंतर माझा विश्वास आहे, आपल्या समाजात प्रगतीची आशा निर्माण करण्यासाठी समानता हेच सर्वोत्तम उत्तर आहे.

ह्या कार्यक्रमात घडलेली आगळी वेगळी गोष्ट म्हणजे, "हॅप्पी' ह्या उत्पादनाची झलक, मुक्ती संस्थेच्या पाठिंब्याने युवा तरुण शिवम त्रिवेदी आणि तन्मय कांथे ने हे उतपादनाची निर्मिती केलेली आहे. ह्या उत्पदनामागील कल्पना अतिशय प्रशंसनीय आहे. तन्मय ची आई ही संधी रोगाने ग्रस्त असल्यामुळे त्याला हे उत्पादन बनवण्याची कल्पना आली.  "हॅप्पी" हे एक असे उत्पादन आहे ज्यामुळे महिलांना तीव्र वैद्यकीय परिस्थिती किंवा गर्भवती स्त्रियांना उभे राहून मूत्र करणे सहजरित्या शक्य होते. सार्वजनिक शौचालयांचा वापर केल्यामुळे अनेकदा यूटीआय आणि त्वचेच्या संक्रमणापासून होण्याची शक्यता असते ह्या पासून बचाव म्हणून हे उत्पादन एक उत्तम पर्याय आहे. जागतिक महिलादिनानंतर हा कार्यक्रम आयोजित केला गेला होता, यावर तन्वीर कौर चे म्हणे आहे की, "प्रत्येक दिवस माहितीला दिवसचं नाही का?"

Bollywood throngs Nisha JamVwal's swish sit-down lunch & panel discussion

Celebrity columnist and social activist Nisha JamVwal hosted a swish sit-down lunch along with a panel discussion on the subject of 'Connecting Rural India through Technology' for Detel Foundation and its founder Yogesh Bhatia at Bombay’s best rooftop restaurant Souk, for select friends, over a seven course gourmet lunch. Guests comprising of famed celebrities Anu Malik , actor Ranjeet, ace lawyer Mrunalini Deshmukh, maestro Anup Jalota, chef Amrita Raichand, courtier Amy Billimoria, Shashi Bansal, Naazi Bedi engaged in the panel discussion on the importance of technology and telecommunications in skill development and improving education in India’s tier two, tier three towns and villages as they dug into the delectable cuisine. 

                             

JamVwal, looking gorgeous in a gold lamé slinky creation, shared “I believe India is not its cities but its villages and there must be rural development and women empowerment in tier two and tier three cities for the country to forge ahead. Technology, smart learning, skill development and e-education using technology and technical advancement is the key.”

Anup Jalota Releases Three Valentine’s Singles From Red Ribbon!

This Valentine’s season, Red Ribbon Musik is back with three romantic music videos - Ye Dil Deewana Mane Na, Yeh Mujhe Kya Hua and Toota Hoon Bikhra Nahi. The first song is by Anuradha Paudwal called Ye Dil Deewana Mane Na, a haunting melody, the composition and lyrics are by Laxmi Narayan. The second, Yeh Mujhe Kya Hua, a treat for music lovers, is sung by the versatile singer-performer Lalitya Munshaw and Aishwarya Nigam, is composed by Puja Neelam Kapoor and its lyrics are penned by Kashi Kashyap. The picturesque music video for this song, filmed in the scenic Himalayan hilltops of Rishikesh and Mussoorie , Uttarakhand, features Lalitya Munshaw and Kapil Gujjar of Rubaru Mr. India 2017 fame. Lalitya Munshaw is also the woman behind Red Ribbon Muzik. The third song by Aryan Pandit is ‘Toota Hoon Bikhra Nahi’, a sad romantic number written, composed and rendered by the actor himself.
